Selected Lean Manufacturing Projects

  • Process Development:
    • Analyzed CAD designs in terms of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), and developed processes for fabricating of 3 frame assemblies as a project lead, each comprising of 100+ components and worth $550k+ revenue in total (2022-2023) at Paramount Components Limited.
    • Developed a process for production improvement projects using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and implemented a project tracker at BE.
  • Kaizen:
    • Participated in a cross-departmental kaizen project focused on organizing hand and power tools in the production area at BE.
    • Devised numerous MS Excel tools to digitize hand-calculation procedures of manufacturing co-products, labor hours, machine setup time, and engineering productivity hours, as a part of continual improvement initiatives at Paramount Components Ltd.
  • DFMEA/PFMEA:
    • Developed an excel tool for calculating RPN (Risk Priority Number) for Design Failure Mode Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Analysis (PFMEA) at BE.
    • Analyzed and implemented Design for Manufacturing (DFM) adjustments to customer-provided 3D CAD models and contributed to the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for various products, including fuel testing assembly frames, cabinets, planters, etc., at Paramount Components Ltd.
  • Poka-Yoke:
    • In the pressure washer test room, the fuel circulation system transferred fuel from a tank to the engine and returned excess fuel via a vacuum hose. The flexible hose end lacked proper securing, causing it to fall and potentially suck in water or oil from the floor, contaminating the fuel tank. To prevent this, I replaced the flexible hose end with a solid 90-degree metal pipe, 3D printed a holster, and installed it to secure the hose, eliminating the risk of contamination.
  • 5S:
    • Optimized the oil and air hose layout in the pressure washer test area in a maintenance project at BE - improved efficiency, reducing wear, and creating a cleaner, more organized workspace in line with 5S principles.
